The Crisp County Power Commission is one of more than 2,200 public power systems in the U.S. providing dependable and economic power to the citizens in their communities. We serve Crisp County, Georgia including the municipalities of Cordele and Arabi. We also own and operate Lake Blackshear, an 8,700 acre reservoir stretching 20 miles long on the Flint River which provides hydroelectric power to our customers. The Power Commission is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and reliable, cost-effective power to our customers. Our service area covers approximately 330 square miles with an estimated population of 23,000. COVID-19 – uPDATED May 4, 2020 LOBBY TO REOPEN MONDAY, MAY 4, 2020, AT 8:00 AM The Crisp County Power Commission lobby will re-open on Monday, May 4, 2020, at 8:00 AM. We have put protective measures in place in an effort to maintain social distancing and to protect the health of our employees and our customers. These measures include: All customers are encouraged to wear a mask. Customers with a fever or who are feeling sick should not come inside. Customers are asked to stay behind the plexiglass shields at all times. A maximum of 10 customers will be allowed inside at one time. Customers will need to maintain a 6-foot separation between themselves and other customers and employees. We offer many services by telephone and encourage customers to call us at 229-273-3811 before coming to our office. We also offer a variety of other options to pay your bill that do not require you to come into our office building including: Our mobile app (go to either Apple or Android App Store and search for CCPC) Our online customer portal (www.crispcountypower.com) 2 Outdoor kiosks Telephone Drive thru Mail Bank draft Your bank’s online bill pay feature We want to thank our customers and our employees for their continued efforts to keep us all safe during this unprecedented time. DISCONNECTIONS OF SERVICE AND LATE CHARGES SCHEDULED TO RESUME The Crisp County Power Commission board met on April 28, 2020, and discussed the status of the temporary suspension of late charges and disconnection for non-payment. Staff recommended and the Board approved the following: Disconnection for non-payment will resume on May 5, 2020 Late charges will resume on May 27, 2020 We will continue to work with customers that may have difficulty paying on a case-by-case basis and request those customers call us at 229-273-3811. NEW IVR PHONE SYSTEM 11/18/19! We are introducing our new Integrated Voice Response system (IVR) on November 18 th ! The new IVR system integrates with our Outage Management System (OMS) to help us provide faster, more accurate detection and analysis of service interruptions which will help us respond faster to both individual outages and system-wide disturbances. Outages reported by the IVR system are logged into the OMS system in real-time. In addition – coming soon! – the new IVR system will be able to notify customers if the OMS system is aware of their outage and provide customers with an estimated time of restoration. The new IVR phone system has a high capacity to handle multiple outage calls so we encourage all customers with an outage to report their outage using this new, easy-to-use system. The new IVR system uses caller id to look up customer account information so please verify the phone number printed on your bill is accurate . Customers can change their phone number using our online portal, our mobile app, or by calling our Customer Service Department at 229-273-3811. we now offer prepay metering! Our Prepay Metering program allows you to pay for electricity how and when you choose in the same manner in which you buy gasoline for your car! Payments establish and maintain a credit on your account from which daily usage costs are deducted. Notifications keep you informed as to how much you have used and how much credit remains on your account. There are no monthly statements, security deposits, or late fees! Stop by our office and check out our kiosks! The kiosks allow customers to skip the lines at the counter and make payments on accounts 24/7! They accept cash (change not provided), check, or credit/debit card and provide real-time posting to your account with an easy-to-use touch screen.
